Harold Jones (artist)

Harold Jones (1904–1992) was a British artist and illustrator and author of children's books who established his reputation with This Year: Next Year (1937), for which he produced lithographs illustrating verses by Walter de la Mare. His most acclaimed work, Lavender Blue (1954), a collection of nursery rhymes gathered together by Kathleen Lines, received an American Library Association Award. Critic Brian Alderson has called Jones "perhaps the most original childrens book illustrator of the period".[1]
